La Brea Tar Pits
Located in the heart of metropolitan Los Angeles, the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits is one of the world’s most famous fossil localities. This onsite museum displays Ice Age fossils, including saber-toothed cats, dire wolves and mammoths from 10,000–40,000-year-old asphalt deposits.
Los Angeles Zoo
The zoo is home to more than 1,100 mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles representing more than 250 different species, including 29 that are endangered. In addition, the zoo’s botanical collection comprises several planted gardens and over 800 different plant species with over 7,400 individual plants.
Olvera Street
Olvera Street, known as “the birthplace of Los Angeles,” is a Mexican Marketplace that recreates a romantic “Old Los Angeles.” It has a block-long, narrow, tree-shaded, brick-lined market with old structures, painted stalls, street vendors, cafes, restaurants and gift shops.
Pantages Theatre
The greatest movie palace from Hollywood’s Golden Age, Hollywood Pantages is Southern California’s showplace for blockbuster live Broadway entertainment.
Paramount Pictures Studios
For an authentic Hollywood experience, set aside some time to tour the grounds. On the studio tour, a guide will take you around the site’s 65 acres in a golf cart and you’ll also be able to hop off and explore sound stages and recognizable studio sets from many current TV shows and movies.

The Getty
